Japanese regional career and community support initiatives

Japanese local governments and organizations are implementing various regional initiatives focused on career development and community support.

In Hiroshima and Mie, programs have been established to empower women’s careers. Hiroshima’s Yasuda Gakuen and Hirogin Holdings launched a three-month “Career Ownership Program” to help female employees identify professional strengths. Meanwhile, Mie Prefecture introduced a “Women Employment Support Project” providing over 800 e-learning modules and personalized consulting to assist women transitioning through life events such as marriage or childcare.

Further regional efforts include social welfare and digital training. Omuta City’s Social Welfare Council organized a supporter training course to assist citizens in helping those experiencing social withdrawal or school refusal. Additionally, Handa City announced a digital talent training course for women returning to the workforce, utilizing generative AI to help translate childcare experience into professional skills.
