Japanese regional digital stamp rally initiatives

Overview

Various Japanese prefectures and cities are implementing digital stamp rallies to promote local tourism and community engagement through themed content.

In Saitama Prefecture, Satte City launched the ‘Satte Yokai Daisakusen’ project, a community-driven initiative featuring 150 unique yokai designed by residents. The project includes a digital rally from October 12 to October 25, 2026, where participants visit 11 designated spots around Satte Station and the central shopping district to collect stamps and unlock creature forms.

In Shizuoka Prefecture, a separate initiative scheduled to begin November 6, 2026, focuses on anime-themed tourism. This rally utilizes locations from four popular series—‘Evangelion: 3.0+1.0 Thrice Upon a Time’, ‘Laid-Back Camp’, ‘Chibi Maruko-chan’, and ‘Love Live! Sunshine!!’—across 16 designated sites. Participants use the ‘TIPS’ tourism app to scan QR codes for rewards such as AR images, stickers, and local products.
