Jared Verse performance with Cleveland Browns

Overview

Following his trade from the Los Angeles Rams to the Cleveland Browns, defensive end Jared Verse addressed a slow start to the season characterized by a lack of sacks. Verse stated, “I don’t care about sacks. … That’s never been a testament to the way I play,” emphasizing his focus on elevating teammates rather than individual statistics.

Despite the absence of sacks, Verse has begun to impact the defense through quarterback pressures. He has led the Browns with nine pressures, including six during a victory over the Carolina Panthers. Defensive coordinator Mike Rutenberg has utilized Verse in various roles, including snaps at defensive end and defensive tackle, to disrupt offensive linemen. Since joining the team, Verse has generated 152 pressures, ranking fifth among edge rushers in that category.
