Javier May Rodríguez administration in Tabasco

Tabasco Governor Javier May Rodríguez has highlighted various social and environmental initiatives during his administration. A major focus has been the ‘Sembrando Vida’ program, which receives an annual investment of approximately 1.2 billion pesos to support 20,000 families. The Governor noted that this program has helped move 500,000 residents out of poverty and is currently managing tens of thousands of plants to support reforestation.

Building on these efforts, May announced a state-wide reforestation campaign to plant 2.5 million trees across 17 municipalities to combat climate change. To support producers, he plans to sign an agreement with Mexico City to facilitate product sales through ‘Del Campo a la Ciudad’ markets, aiming to eliminate intermediaries.

In a review of his first two years in office, May also reported progress in security, housing, and employment. He cited a 54% decrease in intentional homicides due to increased coordination with the Armed Forces. Additionally, the administration has delivered over 3,700 free houses and reported a drop in the state unemployment rate from 4.4% to 3.5%.
