Jeep Grand Cherokee coil spring and TPMS recalls

Chrysler (FCA US, LLC) issued a recall for 328,381 Jeep Grand Cherokee SUVs produced between December 2020 and May 2023. The recall, identified by NHTSA campaign number 26V562, addresses a risk where improperly installed rear coil springs could move out of position and detach while the vehicle is in motion.

The issue is attributed to incorrect installation rather than a defect in the springs themselves. If a spring detaches, it may create a road hazard or cause a crash. This action follows a similar safety recall regarding rear coil spring issues in June 2023. Vehicles equipped with air suspension are not included in this specific recall.

In September 2026, reports indicated that Jeep is managing multiple recalls. Regarding the Grand Cherokee issue, which affects 2021–2023 Grand Cherokee L, 2022–2023 Grand Cherokee, and 2022–2023 Grand Cherokee 4xe models, dealers will replace the lower coil spring isolators free of charge.

Additionally, Stellantis is recalling 201,976 Jeep vehicles due to a software fault in the Radio Frequency Hub module. This defect may prevent the tire-pressure monitoring system (TPMS) from detecting or displaying warnings for low tire pressure. Affected owners are expected to receive notifications starting in late September 2026, and dealers will reprogram the module at no cost.
