Cobb revealed that he had rejected WWE offers on four separate occasions prior to joining in early 2025, citing commitments to New Japan Pro-Wrestling (NJPW) and a reluctance to relocate to Florida. He noted that a FaceTime call from Paul ‘Triple H’ Levesque ultimately convinced him to ‘take a leap of faith’ and join the company.

Following his WWE departure, Cobb has officially returned to NJPW. During the G1 Climax 36 final event at the Ryogoku Kokugikan, Cobb made a surprise appearance in the ring. He announced his intention to join the faction Unbound Co., signaling a departure from his former association with the United Empire. Cobb stated he is returning to where ‘the real wrestling is’ and expressed a desire to confront Callum Newman.
