Jeju local enterprise market expansion initiatives
Overview
Efforts to expand the market reach of Jeju-based small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) have transitioned from physical retail testing to digital distribution support.
Initially, Jeju Special Self-Governing Province and the Jeju Creative Economy Innovation Center organized a pop-up store in Seoul’s Seongsu-dong district. The event, themed ‘Made on Jeju, Made of Jeju’, featured fourteen local brands across the food and beverage, beauty, and lifestyle sectors to test marketability among metropolitan consumers.
Following these physical retail initiatives, Coupang partnered with Jeju authorities to host the ‘2026 Meet Jeju K-Local Star’ event. This program focused on online expansion for approximately 50 local SMEs and micro-businesses. The initiative provided one-on-one consultations, product evaluations, and training in online sales and export trends to help local producers, such as those specializing in citrus, black pork, and cosmetics, broaden their market reach.
