The second defendant, her 41-year-old mother, Nadia J., faces charges as a secondary participant for allegedly assisting in the disposal of the victim’s belongings after witnessing a video of the attack.

Two other minors involved in the stabbing were dismissed from the case and referred to child welfare services. The case is currently moving toward a preliminary hearing.
