Cultural life persisted with the Festa das Neves; street‑food vendor “maçã do amor” sold about 1 000 apples at R$5 each, supporting dozens of families. The celebrations on 5 August featured performances by Fábio Jr., Roupa Nova, the municipal dance company and the Banda 5 de Agosto, drawing thousands of residents and tourists.
