Journey drummer medical emergency and return

Overview

During a performance at the BOK Center in Tulsa, Oklahoma, Journey drummer Deen Castronovo suffered a medical emergency after only two songs. The concert was temporarily halted as Castronovo was transported to a local hospital. During the interruption, the band’s drum technician, Steve Toomey, filled in for the remainder of the set.

Following the incident, guitarist Neal Schon reported on social media that Castronovo was ‘doing great’. On October 10, Castronovo returned to perform a full set with the band at the Frost Bank Center in San Antonio, Texas, where he also shared vocal duties.
