Overview

In late July 2026 the European Broadcasting Union and Maltese broadcaster PBS confirmed that the Junior Eurovision Song Contest will be held on 24 October 2026 at the Malta Fairs & Conventions Centre in Ta’ Qali, featuring 16 participating countries, including Albania, Armenia, Cyprus, France, Georgia, Ireland, Italy, Malta, Montenegro, the Netherlands, North Macedonia, Poland, Portugal, San Marino, Spain and Ukraine. The EBU highlighted growing viewership and its aim to deliver a world‑class youth music show.

On 30 July 2026 Spain’s public broadcaster RTVE announced that 10‑year‑old Lucas Paulano, the 2025 winner of La Voz Kids, will represent the country. The internal selection was revealed during the finale of “El Perro Andaluz”, where Paulano performed a Spanish rendition of “Grande Amore”. RTVE confirmed Spain’s 12th participation but held back details on the song title and staging. Paulano, a Jaén native, has previously performed with Manuel Turizo, appeared at a royal visit, and released his debut single “Todo sigue igual”. He continues studies at the Conservatorio Profesional de Música Ramón Garay and is working with composer‑producer Alejandro Jaén on new material.
