Juventus football club recruitment and scouting efforts

Juventus is undergoing a restructuring of its technical and scouting departments, with reports indicating a preference for Davide Cangini to lead a new recruitment network that integrates data analytics with traditional observation.

The club is actively pursuing several players to strengthen its squad. Initial efforts focused on midfield talent, including interest in Marseille’s Pierre-Emile Højbjerg and a pursuit of Issa Doumbia, which involves competition with AS Roma and a high asking price from Sporting Clube de Portugal.

Scouting efforts have expanded to include young prospects such as defender Jorge Salinas and Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Lucas Bergvall. For Bergvall, the club is exploring a potential loan deal for the January transfer window, despite resistance from Tottenham and competition from Barcelona and Napoli. Salinas, a left-footed defender with Spanish youth international experience, is also being tracked by Inter, Barcelona, and Atletico Madrid; his contract with Racing Santander includes a €16 million release clause.

Looking toward a broader squad overhaul, CEO Giovanni Carnevali has emphasized a strategic shift toward a more sustainable, younger team with a preference for Italian talent. As part of this long-term planning, the club is monitoring Bologna striker Antonio Raimondo, who is currently on loan at Frosinone.

For the January transfer window, Juventus is reportedly considering reinforcements in attack, midfield, and defense to provide the leadership and character identified as missing by management and coach Luciano Spalletti. Potential targets include Alexander Sorloth, Pierre-Emile Højbjerg, and Nicolás Tagliafico.
