The Hong Kong racing season opened at Sha Tin Racecourse with the horse Ka Ying Rising, trained by David Hayes, winning the Group Three HKSAR Chief Executive’s Cup. The sprinter secured its 21st consecutive victory, winning the 1,200m race by 7¾ lengths and setting a new track record of 1:06.11.

Following this performance, Ka Ying Rising achieved a rating of 135 in the Longines World’s Best Racehorse Rankings. This rating surpasses the previous sprinter record of 132 set by Black Caviar in 2011, placing the horse among the highest-rated in the history of the rankings. The horse has since entered quarantine to prepare for The Everest, a Group One race scheduled for October 17 in Australia.
