Kalshi prediction market trading activity

Trading activity on the Kalshi prediction market has remained significant, with recent volumes recorded at $1.4 million and $1.3 million across sectors such as technology, space exploration, and geopolitics.

In the technology sector, market participants are speculating on the timing of initial public offerings for major artificial intelligence labs. Traders have shown an increasing preference for OpenAI over Anthropic, with the probability of OpenAI launching an IPO first rising from 87.0% to 93%.

Regarding space exploration, the United States remains the favorite to be the next nation to send humans to the Moon before 2031, with its probability increasing from 58.0% to 60%. Conversely, the probability for China has decreased from 48.0% to 42.8%. Markets are also tracking SpaceX’s Mars ambitions, with the likelihood of a successful landing before 2030 shifting from a 26.0% implied probability to 23%.

Kalshi is positioning itself toward institutional investors as a tool for direct hedging. The platform operates under regulation by the Commodity Futures Trading Commission in the United States, a factor noted by ARK Invest founder Cathie Wood.
