Overview
The Karnataka state government is pursuing the development of ‘Quantum City,’ a proposed hub designed to foster research and deep-tech innovation in fields such as quantum technologies, artificial intelligence, and SpaceTech.
Initial efforts focused on inviting global technology leaders, startups, and investors to collaborate on this ecosystem. Under the Karnataka Space Technology Policy 2025–30, the state aims to capture significant portions of both the Indian and global space markets by 2033, seeking $3 billion in investments and the training of 50,000 professionals.
Building on these objectives, the state has introduced the 1,000 crore Karnataka Quantum Mission, which targets the creation of a $20 billion quantum economy by 2035. To support this growth, the government plans to host the ‘Quantum India Bengaluru Summit’ in 2027, aiming to establish a global platform that connects researchers, policymakers, and commercial entities.
