Karposh municipality infrastructure development
Overview
Sotir Lukrovski, the Mayor of Karposh Municipality, has announced a series of planned investments intended to improve local infrastructure and community services. Representing the VMRO-DPMNE party, Lukrovski stated his administration aims to transform the municipality into a more organized, functional, and green area. Proposed projects include the development of sports halls, the construction of the ‘Prolet 2’ kindergarten, and the creation of a mega-park. In a recent report, Lukrovski detailed specific progress on these initiatives. The ‘Prolet 2’ kindergarten in Kozle is slated to accommodate 130 children, while new multi-purpose sports halls are planned for Vlae and the ‘Bratstvo’ school. Urban improvement efforts have also included the reconstruction of several streets, specifically Dzhumajska, Branislav Nushic, Trifun Buzev, and Atinska. To improve communal maintenance and parking, the municipality has cleared over 3,500 cubic meters of material and removed more than 150 abandoned vehicles. Furthermore, renovations have been carried out on various playgrounds and green spaces in neighborhoods such as Zhdanec and Nerezi. Recent developments include a community-led fundraising campaign by the Skopje skate community to renovate the aging Karposh skate park. The initiative aims to replace damaged wooden and composite elements with durable concrete solutions, with the municipality having already issued the necessary permits. Additionally, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Transport Aleksandar Nikoloski announced an 11 million euro investment package for the municipality. Approximately 5.5 million euros will be managed by the Ministry of Transport to fund the construction of squares, streets, and sewage systems, as well as the sanitization of landslide-prone areas near Kozle, Trnodol, and Zhdanec. To mitigate congestion, the government is also planning underground and multi-level garages for the Karposh 1, 2, 3, and 4 neighborhoods.
