Kavač and Škaljari clan criminal investigation

Investigations into the January 2020 attempted murder of Igor Krstović, a leader of the Škaljari clan, have yielded new details through intercepted Sky ECC encrypted communications. The attack in the Zeta settlement of Balijače involved automatic weapons and left Krstović wounded by at least 28 bullets. Following the shooting, attackers reportedly set their vehicle on fire to destroy evidence and discussed evading police checkpoints.

Communications reveal that Kavač clan leaders Radoje Živković and Milan Vujotić pressured associates to execute the hit. Živković reportedly threatened to reassign the task if the Stanišić brothers did not complete the assassination within a month, expressing frustration that they utilized “subcontractors” for the operation. The hit was valued at approximately 150,000 to 200,000 euros.

As a result of the Special State Prosecutor’s investigation, Radoslav and Saša Stanišić were arrested. Other individuals, including Vidoje Stanišić, Raška Džankić, Radmila Džankić, and Mersudin Čalaković, are also under suspicion for their roles in the criminal group or for aiding the crime.
