Keur Massar network arrests in Senegal

In late July 2026, Senegal’s Brigade de recherches in Keur Massar began a series of arrests targeting criminal networks operating in the Dakar‑Thiès corridor. The first reported action detained two women, aged 23 and 31, on charges of association with a criminal group, computer‑based threats and other offenses. Police said the investigation originated from a personal dispute that escalated into a raid on an employer’s home and involved a well‑known social‑media personality.

A few days later, the same brigade announced further arrests that broadened the scope of the crackdown. One operation uncovered a network that recruited adolescent girls for drug trafficking, sexual offenses and financial exploitation, leading to the detention of eight suspects, including a mother who admitted joining for money. In a separate but related case, a social‑media influencer was arrested for pressuring a minor to extract large sums from his father’s shop, with the proceeds used to buy a vehicle. Both investigations remain ongoing, highlighting an expanding focus on organized crime and the exploitation of minors in the Keur Massar area.
