Košice Airport passenger growth
Overview
Košice Airport in Slovakia reported a historic milestone in July, processing more than 150,000 passengers in a single month for the first time. During the first seven months of the year, the airport handled over 616,000 passengers, representing a year-on-year increase of more than 35 percent.
This growth is primarily attributed to a 55 percent increase in regular flight connections. The airport is currently operating its most extensive summer schedule to date, featuring 12 regular lines to destinations such as Bratislava, Prague, Vienna, Antalya, Hurghada, and Larnaca. Increased interest in routes to Malaga and Rome has also led Wizz Air to expand capacity for the Rome connection, adding a third weekly flight.
