Korona Kielce and Pogoń Szczecin Ekstraklasa competition

Overview

In the PKO BP Ekstraklasa, Korona Kielce reached the midpoint of the autumn round with 15 points from nine matches. Coach Jacek Zieliński noted that while the results were appreciated given a difficult schedule, the team fell short of his goal to maintain a two-point average per match.

During a subsequent league match on October 11, Pogoń Szczecin defeated Korona Kielce 2-0. The victory extended Pogoń Szczecin’s unbeaten streak to eight matches. The match was marked by controversy after Pogoń Szczecin owner Alex Haditaghhi criticized the officiating, describing the performance of referee Piotr Lasyk and his assistants as a ‘total farce’ and accusing them of systematic bias.
