Kroměříž town hall tower restoration

Overview

During the restoration of the Kroměříž town hall tower, which began in June, workers discovered three metal tubes hidden inside the spire’s finial.

These tubes contained various historical materials: two contained files and photographs from 1885 and 1886, while the third held documents, postcards, and publications from 1906. The materials were opened at the Kroměříž Museum restoration workshop and have been transferred to the State District Archive in Kroměříž for examination. The ongoing restoration project is estimated to cost approximately 10.5 million CZK.
