Following a police investigation, a 59-year-old e-hailing driver was arrested in connection with the assault. Kuala Lumpur Police Chief Datuk Fadil Marsus stated that the suspect admitted to the act, citing dissatisfaction with the victim. Authorities seized a motorcycle, clothing, a helmet, and a bottle containing suspected petrol. The suspect has been remanded for seven days under Section 326 of the Penal Code.
