Kurt Weill festival and concerts in Germany

In late July 2026 the Kurt‑Weill Society in Dessau announced the launch of a multi‑month programme ahead of the 35th Kurt‑Weill Festival. The “Weill am Abend” series began on 13 August with an open‑air concert and continued with jazz performances, a multimedia history presentation, theatre, and a cellist through November, with tickets already on sale. The schedule extends into early 2027, covering roughly 70 events across Dessau and the surrounding region.

A week later, additional Weill‑related concerts were publicised in other German cities. A Swiss‑led jazz quartet was set to play in Braunschweig’s Red Hall, showcasing new material from an upcoming album. Separately, the International Bach Academy announced a performance of Kurt Weill and Bertolt Brecht’s cantata “Der Lindberghflug” in Ludwigsburg on 1 May 2027, featuring a mixed program of Weill, Gershwin, and Ravel works. These announcements illustrate the expanding calendar of Kurt Weill‑focused cultural events throughout Germany beyond the Dessau festival core.
