Coordinator Jaime Lebbink emphasized the necessity of these funds, noting that approximately 850,000 people in the Netherlands are currently living with or after cancer. KWF highlights that research funding has helped increase five-year survival rates from 25 percent at the organization’s inception to 66 percent today.

Donations are being accepted via collectors’ QR codes, the KWF website, and designated boxes in areas such as Eibergen and Borculo. To expand their reach, KWF is actively seeking additional volunteers in Borculo, Neede, Geesteren, Gelselaar, Ruurlo, and Eibergen.

Parallel to the collection, NPO Radio 2 began its ‘Wish Week’ on August 31. The station is hosting live broadcasts at Vakantiepark RCN het Grote Bos in Doorn, featuring musical performances by artists including DI-RECT, Ilse DeLange, and Davina Michelle to fulfill the wishes of those affected by cancer.
