Las Iguanas Golf Course development in Cap Cana

Overview

Jack Nicklaus has returned to Cap Cana in the Dominican Republic to oversee the development of the Las Iguanas Golf Course under the Jack Nicklaus Signature Design firm. The project is currently operating with its first nine holes, with the full 18-hole course expected to be completed by the end of 2026 and officially open in the spring of 2027.

During his visit, Nicklaus and his team evaluated the construction, design, and environmental integration of the course. Nicklaus noted that the project is being completed after being previously partially finished.

Fernando Hazoury, President of the Board of Directors of Cap Cana, stated that this collaboration supports the long-term vision of the destination. The new infrastructure is intended to strengthen Cap Cana’s status in sports and golf tourism, complementing existing international events such as the Ironman 70 and ATP Challenger 175.
