LATAM Airlines Embraer E195-E2 fleet expansion
Overview
LATAM Airlines Group has commenced the delivery process for its first Embraer E195-E2 aircraft. The Brazilian affiliate, LATAM Airlines Brasil, is scheduled to receive 12 aircraft by the end of 2026 and an additional 12 in 2027.
To support this fleet expansion, LATAM and Embraer have signed a strategic partnership through the Embraer Component Pool Program. This agreement covers more than 300 components and includes repairs, overhauls, rapid component exchanges, and the placement of spare parts inventory at LATAM’s Brazilian facilities. According to Carlos Naufel, President and CEO of Embraer Services & Support, the program aims to ensure “high aircraft availability and operational reliability” while helping the airline reduce maintenance expenses and inventory storage costs.
LATAM has placed a firm order for 24 E195-E2 units, with options to purchase up to 50 additional aircraft. The jets will feature a two-class configuration with 136 seats in a 2-2 layout, including Premium Economy and Economy cabins. Onboard amenities include USB-C power ports, free Wi-Fi for members, and the ‘LATAM Play’ entertainment system. The E195-E2 is noted for its operational efficiency, with fuel consumption up to 30 per cent lower than first-generation E-Jets.
Service is expected to begin on Brazilian domestic routes between November 2026 and March 2027. The initial deployment phase will involve 14 aircraft across 42 routes, introducing four new destinations: Cabo Frio (RJ), Ji-Paraná (RO), Macaé (RJ), and Rondonópolis (MT).
