Latin American and Caribbean aviation industry summits

Overview

The Latin American and Caribbean Air Transport Association (ALTA) has held consecutive high-level gatherings to address the legal, technical, and operational landscape of the regional aviation industry.

In September 2026, the ALTA Aviation Law Americas Conference in Miami brought together over 170 experts to discuss aeropolitical challenges, including the impact of international sanctions, U.S. trade and tariff landscapes, and taxation in Brazil. The conference also examined technological regulations regarding Advanced Air Mobility, cargo drones, and the legal risks of artificial intelligence.

Following this, the industry shifted focus toward technical operations and leadership strategy. A specialized ‘Hot Weather Customer Day’ in Gran Canaria addressed aircraft maintenance and climate control systems for high-temperature environments. Additionally, ALTA scheduled its 22nd Annual General Assembly and Airline Leaders Forum in Mexico City, expected to host over 350 delegates and 40 airline CEOs to discuss regional air transport recovery, infrastructure, sustainability, and fleet management.
