Latin American infrastructure and environmental initiatives

Latin American nations are implementing various regional development projects focused on infrastructure, water management, and environmental conservation.

In terms of water and public works, Mexico has seen several sanitation and drainage projects in Tequisquiapan, Tijuana, and Tampico, alongside water bill discounts in Guadalajara. Argentina has announced a $250 million investment from the Vicuña mining project for provincial infrastructure, while Ecuador and Peru are moving forward with sanitation and water utility projects in Manabí and San Román, respectively.

Concurrently, reforestation and ecological initiatives are progressing across the region. Chile is developing an ecological corridor in Huechuraba, while the Dominican Republic is conducting reforestation campaigns in the Cotuí river basins to protect water sources. Local efforts in Mexico include expanding pollinator gardens in Tehuacán and planting native trees in Saltillo and Veracruz to combat temperature rises and improve urban environments.
