Launch of AI-powered transcription earbuds

The market for AI-integrated audio hardware has seen new product entries focused on transcription and summarization capabilities.

Viaim released the OpenNote and RecDot 2 earbuds, which offer real-time translation in up to 78 languages and generate meeting summaries, key-point lists, and mind-maps. These devices feature varying hardware specifications, such as active noise reduction and specific battery life capacities, and were marketed globally with initial coverage in the United Arab Emirates.

Following this, Tecno launched the POVA AI Buds Pro in India. Similar to the Viaim models, these earbuds provide full conversation transcripts, summaries, and visual mind maps, while also supporting real-time translation for 78 languages. The Tecno hardware includes an eight-microphone setup and 48dB hybrid active noise cancellation. Arijeet Talapatra, CEO of TECNO Mobile India, described the product as a “smarter companion” designed to help users capture and recall conversation details without disrupting workflows.
