Overview

Law enforcement agencies in Chile, Peru, and the Dominican Republic have conducted various investigations and operations involving missing persons, fugitives, and criminal suspects.

In Chile, authorities investigated the disappearance of Jonathan Zumelzu Garay in Osorno after bloodstains and a knife were found in his home. In a separate incident in Talca, the Investigative Police (PDI) apprehended a man wanted since 2017 for sexual offenses against a minor.

In Peru, a 16-year-old girl who had been missing since July reappeared safely in Santiago de Chuco. She reported receiving threats from her boyfriend, Segundo Martín Rodríguez Ruiz, following an extortion attempt where an individual demanded 100,000 soles for her release. Rodríguez Ruiz was detained during the investigation.

In the Dominican Republic, a confrontation occurred in Higüey during a raid by the Central Investigation Directorate (Dicrim). Roberto Then Almeida, a suspect wanted for robbery and physical aggression, died while receiving medical treatment at a hospital following the encounter.
