Legal and personal incidents involving Fabrizio Corona

Overview

On October 10, 2026, former paparazzi photographer Fabrizio Corona was attacked and robbed by six men near his home in Milan’s Piazzale Dateo area. The assailants reportedly threatened him with a screwdriver and stole jewelry valued at approximately 400 euros. Corona, who sustained minor abrasions, suggested the attack might not have been random, noting that one attacker appeared to be an entrepreneur involved in a professional debt dispute with him.

Following this incident, Corona was involved in a police pursuit in Milan on the night of October 14–15. After ignoring orders from a Carabinieri patrol to stop for a routine check near via Moscati and corso Sempione, Corona led officers on a 700-meter chase. Authorities subsequently discovered he was driving without a valid license and that his vehicle was subject to an administrative stop order. He faces charges for dangerous flight and driving without a license, and his SUV has been seized.

Conflicting accounts have emerged regarding the motive for the chase. While Corona claimed via Telegram that he was chasing suspects involved in his previous assault and characterized news of the chase as “fake news”, new reports suggest he was actually pursuing television host Stefano De Martino. According to journalist Alberto Dandolo in the weekly Oggi, De Martino reportedly approached a Carabinieri patrol after witnessing a Range Rover driving recklessly. De Martino allegedly told officers, “It is an unconscious person in a Range Rover who is driving recklessly and at very high speed. He is running all the red lights and I have the feeling that he is following me.” Journalist Selvaggia Lucarelli has supported the version of events suggesting Corona was following De Martino.
