Legal complaints against public officials in Balkans

Overview

Legal proceedings and complaints regarding corruption and administrative misconduct have emerged across several Balkan regions.

In Sarajevo Canton, a councilwoman for the Naša Stranka party was fined 2,000 KM following an investigation into a conflict of interest involving public contracts awarded to a company represented by her son. Meanwhile, in Belgrade, the Higher Public Prosecutor’s Office rejected criminal complaints against the Foreign Minister and several ambassadors concerning alleged violations of voting rights and polling station determinations.
