Leo Rey and La Noche musical dispute
Overview
Singer Leo Rey has publicly addressed his departure from the cumbia group La Noche and his ongoing conflict with former bandmate Alexis Morales, known as Alexítico. Following a viral incident at Parque O’Higgins where Rey directed insults toward Morales, the singer held an emotional broadcast to explain his actions. Rey claimed his remarks were a way to “desahogarme de alguien que me traicionó” (vent about someone who betrayed me), alleging he faced professional blacklisting and mistreatment after leaving the group.
While La Noche issued a statement seeking to distance the band from the dispute to avoid “amplificar el odio” (amplifying hate), Rey has since clarified that the rift is permanent. He described the conflict as a matter of loyalty and legal disagreements regarding song authorship and financial rights within the partnership. Rey stated, “It is a problem that we are never going to solve,” and characterized the current scrutiny facing Morales as “divine justice.”
