Levica party political and economic engagement

Overview

The Levica party in North Macedonia has engaged in international and domestic political activities focused on economic and sovereign interests. In early September, party official Marjan Dimitriev attended the 11th Eastern Economic Forum in Vladivostok, Russia. During the forum, Dimitriev met with international representatives to discuss economic opportunities and argued that North Macedonia should pursue a “sovereign and pragmatic foreign policy” to diversify international cooperation in a multipolar world.

Later in the month, Member of Parliament Amar Mecinovic announced the party’s participation in the ‘Conversations for the Future’ forum. Mecinovic advocated for dialogue with opposition elements to address domestic issues such as economic hardship, corruption, and declining living standards. He criticized the current government for failing to support workers and called for a political shift toward long-term planning for future generations.
