Lithuanian handball clubs in EHF European Cup

Overview

Lithuanian handball clubs are preparing for participation in the EHF European Cup. Initially, Dragūnas, the recent Lithuanian Handball Federation Super Cup winners, and vice-champions Šviesa were noted for their preparations for upcoming domestic and international competitions. Šviesa, led by new head coach Karolis Bliuvas, was set to face Turkish debutants GSK Istanbul.

Following subsequent draws conducted in Vienna, the competition landscape for Lithuanian teams was clarified. Klaipėda Dragūnas is scheduled to face the Czech club Zubri, a matchup described by coach Miglius Astrauskas as competitive due to the similar strength of the Czech and Baltic leagues. Additionally, Kaunas Granitas-Karys, having advanced after defeating Nicosia Omonoia 29M, will compete against the Romanian club Politehnica Timișoara. The first legs of these matches are slated for mid-October.
