Local cultural and nature festivals in France

Overview

Various local festivals and cultural events are scheduled to take place across different regions of France in late 2026.

In the Pyrenees, the September schedule includes the 12th edition of the Festival Pyrénéen de l'Image Nature de Cauterets, which focuses on biodiversity and wildlife photography through exhibitions and workshops. Additionally, forestry festivities in the Hautes-Pyrénées will feature competitions in sawing and axe-cutting, necessitating temporary road closures near Lac de Payolle.

In October, cultural programming continues with the Les Trobades Médiévales in Perpignan, featuring medieval-themed activities such as knight duels and traditional crafts. Simultaneously, the Pibrac area near Toulouse will host the 9th edition of La Mékanik du Rire, a street performance and comedy festival expected to draw 14,000 spectators.
