Loco México Mágico film launch

The Mexican comedy *Loco México Mágico* opened with a high‑profile premiere on 5 August in Alvarado, Veracruz, where a red‑carpet gala gathered director Carlos Santos, the cast and local officials to showcase the region that serves as the film’s backdrop. The following day, a pre‑screening at Cinépolis Plaza Las Américas continued the promotion, drawing additional celebrities and media personalities and reinforcing the message that major Mexican releases can be staged outside the capital.

On 6 August the pre‑screening featured Santos, stars Daniel Sosa, Silverio Palacios and Sofia Carrera, mayor Beto Cobos Márquez and tourism secretary Igor Rojí López, further emphasizing the film’s regional roots. Organisers used the event to highlight the film’s humor and its celebration of Mexican identity, with the nationwide release scheduled for 13 August.

At the same time, the third edition of the Cine al Margen festival opened in Mexico City, running through 9 August. The festival presents nine feature‑length films and thirteen short films from ten Mexican states, curated by Morgue Films MX and Itsilik’ Estudio with PROCINE support, and will embark on a national tour in early 2027 to promote independent Mexican cinema.
