Logistics infrastructure development in Andalusia
Overview
Logistics infrastructure development is advancing in Andalusia, Spain, through new land sales and urbanization approvals.
In the Majarabique logistics area between Sevilla and La Rinconada, the Agencia Pública de Puertos de Andalucía has initiated the sale of the first seven plots. Covering approximately 301,852 square meters, the initial sale has a starting price of at least 37 million euros. The selection process for companies will consider economic offers, project quality, investment volume, and the use of rail transport, with an aim for operations to begin between 2028 and 2029.
Concurrently, the Spanish Council of Ministers has authorized the bidding process for the urbanization of the Punta del Sebo lands to create a Logistics Activity Zone (ZAL) at the Port of Huelva. This project involves an investment of over 20 million euros to establish necessary road networks and utilities, including water, electricity, and telecommunications. Local officials stated the ZAL is intended to establish Huelva as a major logistical and industrial hub in southern Europe.
