Los Cabos municipal human rights and protection training

Municipal agencies in Los Cabos have implemented various training initiatives focused on human rights and social protections.

In late August, the Los Cabos City Council launched a strategy for the tourism sector to prevent child labor and improve the detection and reporting of rights violations against minors. This program, led by the Municipal Commission for the Prevention and Eradication of Child Labor and SIPINNA, includes training for hotel and restaurant personnel on identifying risk situations. The initiative also promotes the National Code of Conduct for the Protection of Children and Adolescents in the Travel and Tourism Sector.

By September, municipal training efforts expanded to include accessibility and broader human rights education. The Municipal Institute for the Development of Persons with Disabilities participated in workshops for architects and engineers to ensure urban design meets standards for autonomy and safety. Additionally, public sector staff underwent training through the ‘Human Rights Culture: Training Route for the Public Sector 2026’ to prevent discriminatory practices and foster inclusive work environments.
