Lotto Max jackpot developments in Canada

Overview

In early September, forty-nine individuals shared a $55 million Lotto Max jackpot through a group play format. The winners, representing twelve different regions, met at Loto-Québec headquarters to receive their prizes.

By early October, the jackpot grew significantly after no one claimed the $70 million prize in the October 2 draw. While the main jackpot remained unclaimed, three Maxmillions prizes were won across Ontario, Quebec, and the Atlantic region, alongside 14 MaxPlus prizes. The October 6 draw was estimated to feature a jackpot of approximately $87 million, consisting of a $75 million main prize and roughly 12 Maxmillions prizes.

Following this, the jackpot is set to reach a record $85 million for the October 13 draw, contributing to a total prize pool of $101 million. Loto-Québec spokesperson Renaud Dugas noted that recent game changes now allow the jackpot to reach up to $90 million. The upcoming draw could produce up to 16 Maxmillions instant millionaires and 85 prizes of $100,000. This surge has increased interest, with many participants forming groups of friends, family, or colleagues to purchase tickets.
