Ly Thuong Kiet Primary School administration controversy

Authorities in Quang Ninh began investigating an incident at Ly Thuong Kiet Primary School after social media images showed a white car parked in the schoolyard during a student flag-raising ceremony. The vehicle was identified as belonging to Tran Thi Thu, the Vice Principal in charge of the school’s third campus. School leadership noted the parking was inappropriate, as it disrupted the ceremony and posed safety risks.

During the initial investigation, the Viet Hung Ward Party Committee also looked into allegations that the Vice Principal had borrowed money from teachers without repayment. Authorities determined these were civil matters to be resolved according to legal regulations, noting the Vice Principal stated she currently lacks the ability to repay the debts.

Following the investigation, the Vice Principal accepted responsibility for the parking incident, stating she had followed security guard instructions. She issued a formal apology and moved the vehicle. In response to the controversy, the school announced new measures to regulate vehicle movement, including restricting cars from entering or exiting school gates during peak student drop-off and pick-up hours.
