Madhya Pradesh flood relief and compensation

Overview

Chief Minister Mohan Yadav has assured full government compensation for individuals who suffered loss of life, livestock, or property due to recent heavy rainfall in the Rewa, Shahdol, and Jabalpur divisions of Madhya Pradesh.

In Rewa district, local administration has initiated damage assessment and restoration efforts as waterlogging recedes. Collector Narendra Kumar Suryavanshi has ordered field staff to complete surveys of damage to houses and crops within three days to facilitate relief distribution. Local authorities have also been directed to prioritize sanitation, infrastructure repair, power restoration, and the organization of health camps to prevent monsoon-related illnesses. While river levels have fallen, the Chief Minister warned of another heavy rain cycle expected between August 24 and August 27.
