Madhya Pradesh greenfield expressway developments

Overview

The Madhya Pradesh government is advancing several greenfield expressway projects to improve regional and interstate connectivity.

Initial developments include a 160-kilometer, six-lane expressway connecting Bhopal and Indore. Estimated at Rs 4,000 crore, this project aims to reduce travel time between the two cities from four hours to approximately 2 to 2.5 hours by bypassing existing local traffic.

Further expansion involves the Jabalpur-Nagpur Greenfield Expressway, which is expected to link the Mahakaushal region to major economic hubs in Maharashtra. Once the Detailed Project Report is submitted and the project is completed in three stages, the corridor is intended to connect with the Samruddhi Mahamarg and the Nagpur-Goa Shaktipeeth Expressway. This network is projected to significantly reduce travel times from Jabalpur to Nagpur, Mumbai, and Goa.
