Madrid is hosting various large-scale professional gatherings. In mid-October, the IFEMA exhibition complex hosted the FIAA 2026 bus and coach exhibition, where companies like Irizar showcased updated vehicle lineups, including the ieTram and the electric i3 Normal Height. Concurrently, the interihotel MAD26 event focused on hospitality design themes such as ‘Creative Rebellion’, featuring hundreds of brands and speakers.

Looking toward November, Madrid is scheduled to host the 30th Ibero-American Summit of Heads of State and Government on November 4 and 5, 2026. Led by the presidency of Spain, the summit will involve leaders from 22 countries to address topics including sustainability, digitalization, and artificial intelligence. UN Secretary-General António Guterres and European Council President António Costa are expected to attend as special guests.

Key objectives for the summit include establishing an Ibero-American digital alliance, creating a disaster risk reduction network, and developing mechanisms for the recognition of academic diplomas to facilitate youth mobility. Furthermore, Angola is set to be formally accepted as a permanent observer country within the community. Preparatory activities include the Talento Iberoamérica initiative to connect emerging leaders and geopolitical analyses from consulting firms regarding the summit’s implications.
