The incident reportedly occurred on August 24 during a visit to the school regarding admissions. Reports indicate the headmistress reprimanded the student’s mother and reacted angrily when the student defended her parent. The student died by suicide the following day.

Following the death, police registered a case against the headmistress, identified as Vimala. While initial reports focused on the abetment of suicide, subsequent legal actions included charges under the SC/ST Act. The victim’s family alleges that the headmistress insulted the student and her mother based on their caste identity. Authorities are conducting inquiries through the District Education Department, the District Child Welfare Committee, and the Revenue Department, while also reviewing CCTV footage.
