Malaysian regional tourism and community festivals
Overview
Various regional festivals and tourism initiatives are scheduled across Malaysia for late 2026.
In Sabak Bernam, the fourth edition of Karnival Ban Canal is set for November 6–8. The event focuses on the theme ‘Alam * Budaya * Lestari’ (Nature * Culture * Sustainability) to promote the historic 30-kilometre waterway as an eco-tourism destination. Activities include international Kanu Slalom competitions, fishing, and cultural showcases intended to support the local economy.
In Sarawak, two major programs are slated to begin on October 30. The Star Karnival Cuti-Cuti Malaysia in Kuching will feature domestic travel exhibitors, while the Sarawakku Sayang programme in Sri Aman aims to attract 100,000 visitors through government service counters, cultural performances, and community contests.
