Manuela Moreno and Ornella Muti on Ballando con le Stelle

Overview

Journalist Manuela Moreno has participated in the Italian dance competition Ballando con le Stelle, navigating both physical mishaps and personal revelations.

During rehearsals, Moreno suffered an eye injury when her partner, Carlo Aloia, accidentally struck her with his elbow. She also experienced a technical mishap during a live broadcast when her hair extensions became entangled in her partner’s jacket. Despite these incidents, the pair completed their routine. Moreno also used the program to share personal history, discussing the emotional impact of a cancelled wedding and the personal pain regarding the absence of a child.

Other contestants have also faced physical challenges. Actress Ornella Muti was forced to halt her performance during the sixth episode due to a shoulder injury. Host Milly Carlucci reported that the injury was aggravated by a fall during rehearsals involving Muti and her partner, Pasquale La Rocca. Muti attempted to dance but stopped after 38 seconds due to intense pain. The incident led to a tense exchange when judge Barbara d’Urso criticized Muti, suggesting she should move past a narrative of being a fragile woman. La Rocca defended the actress, describing the comments as inappropriate. Muti stated she requires time to recover but has not ruled out a return to the competition, noting, “If I can, I will return.”
