Marijuana plantation dismantlements in Spain

Overview

Spanish law enforcement agencies have conducted separate operations to dismantle marijuana cultivation sites.

In Moraleda de Zafayona, the Guardia Civil dismantled two sites—one greenhouse and one outdoor plot—as part of operation ‘Tabla EHT’. This operation resulted in two individuals being placed at the disposal of judicial authorities for alleged crimes against public health. Authorities also discovered an illegal electrical connection at one of the properties.

Later in August, the Mossos d'Esquadra dismantled three indoor marijuana plantations in the Montmell and Querol areas. This operation led to the arrest of three men facing charges of crimes against public health, membership in a criminal group, and electricity fraud. Investigators seized 1,751 plants and found that the properties had been modified with specialized climate and lighting systems to allow for continuous year-round production. Fraudulent electrical connections were also identified at all three locations.
