Maritime rescue operations in France
Overview
During the weekend of September 26-27, 2026, emergency services in France conducted several maritime rescues across Normandy and Pas-de-Calais.
In Normandy, rescuers assisted three pleasure boats, including a sailboat with rudder damage, a vessel stuck in rocks near Chausey, and a boat that ran out of fuel near Dives-sur-Mer. Sixteen people were rescued safely without injury.
In Pas-de-Calais, high spring tides resulted in the rescue of seven people and two animals who became trapped at beaches in Berck-sur-Mer, Sainte-Cécile, and Authie Bay. Authorities have issued warnings for continued vigilance through September 30.
