Martha Stewart has recounted her final conversation with John F. Kennedy Jr. prior to his 1999 plane crash. Appearing on ‘The Real Housewives of New York City’, Stewart detailed a meeting held the Monday before the accident to discuss his magazine, George.

During their dinner, Stewart asked about his weekend plans, and Kennedy Jr. mentioned that he would be flying his wife, Carolyn Bessette, and her sister, Lauren Bessette, to a wedding in Martha’s Vineyard. Stewart recalled suggesting that he should have a co-pilot for the trip, but Kennedy Jr. responded that he did not need one. Stewart noted that she has frequently thought about that warning in the years since the crash.
